Obverse: There's not much that changes on the obverse of these coins most years, but 2023 is an unusual exception. The coins in this box display Susanna Blunt's portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, but the design is transitional. What sets this design apart is the inscription marking the years of Her Late Majesty's reign, 1952 to 2022. The coin's date, 2023, is near the bottom edge.

It is currently unknown how long this transitional obverse will be in production. 2023 is likely to be the last year the Silver Maple Leaf features Queen Elizabeth II. Reverse: As always, the reverse shows a very impressive depiction of a maple leaf. The Royal Canadian Mint's Mintshield technology is present to help prevent white spots from appearing. An anti-counterfeiting maple leaf security mark and the silver content can also be seen on this side of the coin.
