For your consideration is this lot of 2 rare Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins. 2010 Canada Fine Silver Coin - Piedfort Maple Leaf (mintage 9000). The first coin highlights the 1.4 mm peak relief height on its obverse and on the coin's reverse, selective gold plating adds a celebratory gleam to the SML on its 35th anniversary, The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the "Double date" of her reign. The second coin features "piedfort" which literally means "strong foot" in French and appeared centuries ago to mean "heavy measure" in minting. Today, "piedfort" indicates that a coin is thicker than usual.
