The maple leaf is also the namesake of the country's signature silver bullion coin. Since its introduction in 1988, the Silver Maple Leaf has become one of the world's most iconic and instantly recognizable coins.

In honor of the 35th Anniversary of the first Silver Maple Leaf in 1988, the 2023 5oz Silver Maple Leaf carries a unique field pattern of maple leaves on both the obverse and reverse. The leaves are placed in rings around the iconic maple along with the figure "35, " and the size of each ring get smaller as it gets close to the coin. Not only is this a stunning effect, but eagle-eyed collectors will notice each ring contains exactly 35 maples.

In addition to the maple leaf design, the word "CANADA" arches over the image, while the coin's purity, "9999, " is inscribed on both sides of the leaf. An inscription along the bottom half of the rim reads, FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR. The coin's obverse design features the exclusive effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003.
