2016 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Tube of 25 1 ounce coins Brilliant Uncirculated. The Canadian Maple Leaf Series of bullion coins from the Royal Canadian Mint debuted in 1979. The first coin available was a 1 oz gold coin. Though fractional-ounce gold coins began to debut in the 1980s, the first expansion to a new metal came in 1988.

Micro-laser engraved privy on the reverse. Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins feature two security features in the 1 oz silver weight as of 2014. The mint introduced two new features to the coin that year to combat counterfeiters.

The coins now have radial lines in the background field on both the obverse and the reverse. Additionally, there is a micro-laser engraved privy mark on the reverse side of the coin.
